How Prepared is Matabeleland North in the fight against COVID-19?

This Wednesday, 29 April 2020, Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD) will be live on Skyz Metro FM from 11:00 am – 11:30 am for an informative discussion with the Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Richard Moyo (MP) and a local resident from Lupane, Olivia Nyoni. Honourable Richard Moyo will highlight the Province’s state of preparedness in dealing with COVID-19 and how stakeholders may compliment government efforts in fighting the coronavirus disease.

As the country continues to battle against the spread of COVID-19, Matabeleland North Province, because of the vast tourist activities has not been spared from this pandemic. The province has so far recorded one case and has one recovery and no deaths at the present moment. The province is largely rural and there is limited information on how citizens can prevent the spread of the virus. Communities walk long distances to get to the nearest hospital or clinic and those health facilities are under equipped to deal with COVID-19.
