Female entrepreneur develops vegan skincare range, eyes export market

A female entrepreneur from Bulawayo, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Indalo, Princess Siziba has established her vegan skincare range which she hopes to export to neighbouring countries in order to grow her brand.

Siziba is exhibiting her skincare range at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair for the first time.

In an interview with Infocus News, Siziba highlighted that Indalo uses skin friendly ingredients to manufacture natural skin solutions.

“The key ingredient for Indalo products is Zumbani which contains antioxidants that prevents cell damage. Zumbani has been scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory properties. My products include Zumbani soap, face cream, detox mask and toner. It is a four-step skincare set which can be used by someone who is looking for natural skin solutions and to switch from chemical products to natural and organic products,” she said.

Siziba highlighted that her products do not use any chemicals as they stick to ingredients that are 100 percent natural.

“I started this skincare range because I had previously struggled with acne from when I was a teenager to my adulthood and I was tired of using so many chemical-based products without getting any real results. I started incorporating ingredients in my kitchen such as tomatoes, turmeric and other extracts. It took me about a year to do this research and this is when I decide to use Zumbani as a main ingredient,” she said.

Siziba highlighted that she intends to employ women and source her key ingredient from women so as to support local women as she seeks to strengthen her brand.

Siziba cited that financing her skincare range has been challenging but she had to forgo and make sacrifices in order to establish Indalo.

“Product development is capital intensive and I would encourage those who want to establish such a business to be creative in how they seek resources to finance their initiatives. I hope to grow my brand and export my product outside the country,” she said.

Indalo was established in December after a year of intense research and product development.
