In Her Own Voice Radio Program-Bulawayo Ward 5
This morning, Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD) conducted a radio program on Skyz Metro FM with two candidates who are vying for the Council Seat in Bulawayo’s Ward 5. The program was aimed at facilitating engagement between Bulawayo Ward 5 Local Government candidates and the community of Bulawayo. Present during the radio program was Sarudzayi Nyandoro, an Independent candidate and Nobuhle Magama Nyamanza, a candidate for Alliance for People’s Agenda (APA). Both raised concerns over the dilapidated state of social services in the area. Bulawayo Ward 5 is said to have poor street lighting, poor road infrastructure, inadequate health facilities and limited council schools. Nyamanza indicated how she would strive to ensure that more investors are attracted into the community. She added how she will implement a whistle blowing policy that will be aimed at improving social accountability within the Municipality. Nyandoro cited how she will advocate for more local clinics to be built for Ward 5 community.
